Exotic Dancer Gentlemen's Club Owners Expo 25Th Anniversary
Sunday, August 27, I loaded up the car and hit the road to Las Vegas, Nevada, to cover the Owners Expo. Along the way, I made a stop at the Hesperia, California, Pilot Travel Center to make a pit stop and to buy a couple of gallons of gasoline to make certain that I would make it to the Barstow, California, Pilot Travel Center for another pit stop and to purchase enough gasoline to make it to the Pilot Travel Center in North Las Vegas plus a little extra. Next came a stop at the AM PM in Baker, California for a pit stop and to buy a small bag of cashews to snack on.
Once I got to Las Vegas, I went straight to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to register for the Expo and pick up my press credentials.
While there in the registration area, I ran into and said hello to Caroline Ashe, industry photographer Richard Kent, Lexi Lamour, Dave Manack, the owner of the San Diego, California, Expose Gentlemen's Club Dino Palmiotto, Carmen Valentina, and Don Waitt.
After leaving the Hard Rock, I drove down the street a couple of blocks to check into the Silver Sevens Hotel and Casino and unload the car.
Once I was settled into my room, I went to the restaurant to eat.
When it came time, I drove to the Déjà Vu Showgirls to cover Rio River's Miss Pole Championship and Miss Exotic United States contests.
(The International Explosion took place next door at Harry Mohney's Erotica Museum. The International Explosion was scheduled to start an hour after the contests at the Déjà Vu started. Unfortunately, it is a rare occasion when anything in the industry gets started exactly on time. Plus, there were a total of so many contestants in Miss Pole Championship and Miss Exotic United States, and because I had committed myself to cover both contests in their entirety, I found it impossible to go next door to cover the International Explosion.)
I no sooner walked into the Déjà Vu when I spotted the Puerto Rican Princess sitting with Hugh Hefner impersonator LA Hef and another gentleman I didn't recognize. At the same moment I saw her, the Puerto Rican Princess spotted me. She then jumped to her feet and ran over to say hello and give me a huge lengthy hug. (My life does have its great moments.)
Both contests consisted of some great-looking young women competing that were a lot of fun to observe.
I will write much more about the contests in a following column, but for now, let us concentrate on the Expo.
Monday, August 28, I returned to the Hard Rock for the first day of the Expo tradeshow.
During the afternoon, I saw and spoke with: Brittney Andrews, Bellzora, Mary Carey, Vicki Chase, Nikki Delano, Bunny Galore, owner, editor, and publisher of Glamourgirl Magazine Rich Hansen and his wife, Allie Haze, Prinzzess Felicity Jade, Kenna James, Janine Jericho, Suzie Malone, Jennifer Maria, and Ariana Marie.
I also saw and spoke with: Asa Marie, J.J. McGraw, Dave Michaels, the Puerto Rican Princess, Angela Sommers, Cindy Starfall, Laycee Steele, Reya Sunshine, Katie Sutra, industry photographer Ricky Rich, Tera Patrick, Bridget the Midget Powers, Jennifer White, Destiny B. Wilde,
That Monday evening, it was off to Larry Flynt's Hustler Club to observe the feature showcase.
The performers in the showcase in the order of their appearances were Kenna James, Juliette Electrique, Prinzzess Felicity Jade, Ariana Marie, and the Erotic Pole Duo A.K.A. Team Flex. (The two young women did things on the brass poles that I have never seen before, and I have seen a lot of good pole dancers over the years.)
The ladies that make up the Erotic Pole Duo A.K.A. Team Flex are Alyza Storm and Lucy Lou. And, their home club is none other than Albuquerque, New Mexico's own Fantasy World.
All of the ladies in this showcase gave very good performances.
Tuesday, August 29, it was back to the Hard Rock for the second day of the Expo tradeshow.
During this afternoon's event, I saw and spoke with many of the people I had seen the day before. The people I saw and spoke with for the first time on this day were: The owner of The Red Parrot, in El Paso, Texas, Darius Belcher, Delilah Daniels, Stacia Dianna, Juliette Electrique, Cory Hart, Naomi Knight, Eva LaRay, Daisy Marie, BJ McNaughty, Gia Nova, Lacey Rain, Regan Reilly, Ruby Ryder, Jack Spade, Cynthia Tazer, and Jessa Throttle,
Tuesday evening involved a return to Larry Flynt's Hustler Club for another feature showcase. The performers in the order of their appearances during this showcase were: Mary Carey, Teagan Presley, Daisy Marie, and Kaylani Lei.
During their showcase, Mary, Teagan, Daisy, and Kaylani gave great performances as they always do.
Some people I saw and spoke with for the first time during this event other than the showcase performers were: Scott Alexander, Angel Beau, Aria Moon, Nicky Ninedooors, and Raven McRavester.
Wednesday afternoon, August 30, I again returned to the Hard Rock and went to the Rehab Pool to observe the $10,000 Expo Bikini Contest. (Yes, the bikini contest was resurrected for this year's Expo.)
I walked into the pool area at about 2:04 that afternoon. I immediately came to a large patch of sand that I decided I didn't want to wade through, so I strolled around it on a slightly elevated walkway made of stone. I did just fine until I got to the other end of the walkway.
There I was, walking along deep in thought, when I came to the other end of the walkway where I somehow missed a step and fell like a ton of bricks. The fall resulted in some scrapes to my left temple, my left knee cap, and what later turned out to be a very badly sprained wrist.
Thank goodness, even though my lens cap somehow came off of my camera, the camera itself and the lens were undamaged and everything still works just fine.
Two security men saw me fall. One ran to catch my hat before the wind could succeed in blowing it into the swimming pool while the other helped me to my feet. They both then escorted me to the security office where another security man with paramedic training checked me out, put some Neosporin on my wounds and a bandage on my knee.
Once my wounds had been doctored, and I had dealt with my wounded pride, I returned to the pool area to observe the bikini contest. I didn't stay until the five O'clock end time. My wrist was starting to hurt so badly, I went to my car to lock my gear up in the trunk and then returned to the security office.
It turned out that there was no longer anybody on duty with any medical training. It was suggested that I go across the street to the CVS store and speak with the pharmacist. So, I did. Upon the pharmacist's recommendation, I bought a wrist brace and a bottle of over the counter capsules for pain and swelling.
The one person I saw and spoke with during this afternoon that I had not yet seen was Alexis Amore.
In regard to the bikini contest, it was presented by Platinum 84 in Denver and co-sponsored by Associated Agencies.
There were seventy-five ladies competing in the contest from across America and as far away as Australia and New Zealand.
Aja Marie, a dancer from the New Orleans Penthouse Club won first place and $3,000 in cash. Her home club also received $3,000 in advertising with ED Publications.
The contest was co-hosted by Ronnie "The Limo Driver" Mund from the Howard Stern Show.
I apologize for not being able to name all of the contest prize winners. I probably would have been able to had my wrist not started hurting so badly that I had to leave before the winners were announced. (The only reason I know who won first place is because I saw it mentioned on the ED Publications website.)
Wednesday evening, I decided to forego any closing night parties, etc. So, I had dinner, did what I could to get ready to head home in the morning, and went to sleep.
Thursday, August 31, I went to the Pilot Travel Center in North Las Vegas to top off my tank and kill some time. (I had gone there to fill up Monday evening, because I had seen that the prices of gasoline had gone up a few cents a gallon overnight. [Gasoline prices went up a few more cents a gallon by Tuesday morning.])
At around 3PM, I headed to Destiny B. Wilde's timeshare place to attend her after event barbecue party.
In addition to Destiny and I, some of the people who came to the party were: Stacia Diana, Tylo Duran, and Katie Sutra.
I was told that Jaded Dawn had been there earlier and was supposed to return. However, when I left around 7:15PM, she had not returned.
For all intents and purposes, this year's Owners Expo was everything a silver anniversary event should have been. In other words, it was a fantastic four days, and this writer can hardly wait to see what next year's Expo will bring to the table!
