Myles' Weekend Adventures: AVN AEE, Carnal Comedy Show, Angela Sommers
Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. This column will be about the 2019 AVN AEE, Rebecca Bardoux’s Carnal Comedy Show, and a feature performance by Angela Sommers. So, please read on and learn the details.
The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo
Before I get down to business, I would like to say that, in my opinion, the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is the best convention centered around the many facets of the adult film and entertainment industry. It always has a few hundred beautiful young women in attendance to meet and great with the fans and fellow industry people as well. The AVN AEE is four days long and is always an absolute blast to attend!
Now for the details of this year’s convention.
Tuesday, January 22, I drove to Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon my arrival, I went to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to do the early registration and pick up my press badge for the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
After I had taken care of business in the press room, I went down the street to my hotel, checked in, and carried what I had to from my car to my room. (I simply can not afford to stay at the Hard Rock for five nights at any time of the year.)
Once I had transferred everything I needed to from my car and put it away, I drove to the new Golden Corral Buffet in Henderson, a suburb of Las Vegas, to eat my fill. (I have now eaten in fifty-four Golden Corrals across seven states.)
After I had finished eating, I returned to my hotel for some much-needed sleep.
Wednesday, January 23, I returned to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and attended the first day of the AVN Adult Entertainment tradeshow.
On this the opening day, the people I saw whom I already knew, or had at least met before, were: Cherie Deville, Alana Evens, Diamond Foxxx, Kimmy Granger, Erika Icon, Prinzzess Felicity Jade, Kenna James, Jill Kassidy, Ryan Keely, Sunny Lane, Phoenix Marie, Syren De Mer, Norah Nova, Bailey Rayne, Alison Rey, Sinn Sage, Ember Snow, Natalia Starr, Charlotte Stokely, Evan Stone, Reya Sunshine, and Whitney Wright.
The people I met for the first time on this day were: Maya Bijou, Alex Blake, Amber Chase, Dianne Dizon, Bobbi Dylan, Athena Faris, Alora Jaymes, Shyla Jennings, Sarah Jessie, Jade Jordon, Karmen Karma, Ella Knox, Katana Kombat, Lexi Mansfield, Alex More, Lena Paul, Kali Roses, Kristen Scott, Astrid Star, Molly Stewart, and Emily Willis.
After leaving the Hard Rock at the end of the day, I met Savannah Jane and Steve Nelson at Big Al’s Oyster Bar, in The Orleans Hotel and Casino, for dinner. (I do love Big Al’s Louisiana Gumbo. It is the closest thing to authentic Cajun food you can find in Las Vegas these days that I know of.)
Thursday, January 24, it was back to the Hard Rock for the second day of the tradeshow.
The people I saw on this second day of the event that I knew or had at least met before were: Britney Amber, Brittany Andrews, Charlie Comet, Daisy Ducati, Ashley Fires, Karen Fisher, Dillion Harper, Nina Hartley, Tia Kai, Kendra Lust, Katie Morgan, Anna Bell Peaks, Charlie Rae, Tee Reel, Riley Reyes, Silvia Inari Vachs, and Carmen Valentina.
And the people I met for the first time on this day were: Alexxxis Allure, Becky Cat, India Climaxxx, Emmy Demure, Lala Ivery, Olivia Leigh, Melissa Lynn, Lily O’Riley, Emori Pleezer, Saige, Princess Shaya, Ms. Freudian Slit, Ari Staccs, Jaycee Star, Nyomi Star, Cherry Torn, and Lady Valencia.
Carnal Comedy Show
Thursday evening, after going to a store to purchase a new can of Right Guard, then stopping at a Burger King for a large cheeseburger, French fries, and a diet Coke, I beat a path to the Sapphire Gentlemen’s club for some good times and lots of strong belly laughs. Yes, I went there to attend the fifth annual presentation of Rebecca Bardoux’s Carnal Comedy Show.
This was the lineup for this year’s presentation. Rebecca Bardoux was the hostess and emcee, of course. First to do a comedy monologue was Rebecca Love. Ms. Love was followed on stage by newcomer Hudsy Hawn. (Not only was Hudsy funny, she was a very good singer also.) Following Hudsy’s monologue was an amazing burlesque performance by Lalani Kokonuts. Next up was the legendary Nina Hartley. Once Nina had finished, none other than Christy Canyon and Ginger Lynn conducted a raffle for some nice prizes. Once the raffle was finished, The Shocker took the stage for some comedy mixed with magic tricks. Ron Jeremy and his harmonica followed The Shocker. Ron gave everybody a lot to laugh about as he always does. Evan Stone closed the show with his unique sense of humor and got lots of laughs as did all of the performers.
I look forward to attending next year’s Carnal Comedy Show.
Friday, January 25, I again returned to the Hard Rock for the third day of the tradeshow.
The people I ran into on this day that I already knew or had met before were: Jayden Cole, Tia Cyrus, Nina Elle, Leya Falcon, Manuel Ferrara, Christy Love, Michelle McLaren, Alexis Monroe, Onyx Muse, Roxie Rae, Cindy Starfall, Lucky Starr, Tabitha Stevens, Taylor Stevens, Alexis Texas, Kimber Woods, and Luc Wylder.
The people I met for the first time on this day were: Paula Diamonds, Goddess Fox, Isabella Jensen, Ceara Lynch, Miranda Miller, Ava Monroe, Sofia Moon, Quincy, Brenna Sparks, and Pavlov’s Whore.
Saturday, January 26, I went back to the Hard Rock to attend the final day of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo tradeshow.
The people I ran into during this day that I knew but had not seen yet were: AJ Applegate, Nikki Benz, Linda Glam, Penny Pax, Kevin Wang, and Angela White.
The people I met for the first time on this day were: Tattooed Barbie, Candice Ferrington, Grace Gore, Ella Hughes, Valentina Jewels, Karma Rx, Saya Song, Jaclyn Taylor, and Harmony Wonder.
I am very much looking forward to attending the AVN AEE again next year. It is always the highlight of my Januarys, and one of the most fun and interesting things I do in any year.
I highly recommend that anybody who has never attended an AVN AEE look into purchasing a ticket for at least one day of next year’s event.
Angela Sommers
After having eaten dinner, I went to my hotel room to rest up for a while. Then, when it came time, I went to the Centerfolds Cabaret, located across Paradise Road from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, to spend a little time with Angela Sommers and to observe her first show of the evening. (I would like to have stayed for both of Angela’s shows, but I wanted to get so much sleep as possible before starting the drive home the next morning.)
Somebody at the club must have told Angela that I was there, because shortly after being seated at my table, she came and sat down and chatted with me until it was time for her to go back and prepare for her first show.
For that show, Angela wore a black crown-like headpiece. She next wore a pair of wings made with large black and white feathers. In addition, Angela wore a bikini bra and a pair of G-string-like panties that were practically covered with gold sequins. Angela also wore a gold sequin covered garter on her right thigh. As for footwear, there was none. Angela performed the entire show with her bare feet.
During a portion of this show, some guy dressed in ringmaster’s clothing assisted Angela.
At one point in the show, Angela performed some very good pole work while surrounded by four flaming torches. This was followed by Angela doing a fire show which included fire eating.
Angela ended this show by having some fun with a can of whipped cream. She then tossed out some of her 8X10’s to, “The loudest customers.†After that, she tossed one of her DVDs to one lucky gentleman.
At the back of the stage sat a Moulin Rouge sign in white lights during this show.
During her Moulin Rouge Show, Angela performed to, “Sparkling Diamonds<’ by Nicole Kidman, Jim Broadbentg, Lara Mulcahy, Caroline O’Connor, and Natalie Mendoza, “El Tango De Roxanne,†by Jose Feliciano, Ewan McGregor, and Kacek Koman, “Hindo Sad Diamonds,†by John Leguizamo, Nicole Kidman, and Alka Yagnik, “Lady Marmalade,†by Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Mya, and Pink, and, “Because We Can,†by Fatboy Slim. All of the music for this show was from the movie soundtrack of, “Moulin Rouge.â€
I did not get a chance to Shazam Angela’s first song of this performance because of a house dancer that sat down at my table uninvited. While anyone with half a brain could see that I was busy taking notes, the house dancer started telling me that I should walk to the stage and tip Angela. The fifth time the house dancer said it, I stopped what I was doing and explained to her what I was doing and that I would give Angela a tip later. I also suggested that she stop bothering me and let me do my job. She then left my table, thank goodness. Unfortunately, while this was going on the first song had ended. (I’m sorry to say that I never got a chance to tip Angela. For whatever reason, she did not come out for a meet and greet between her shows, and I had to leave. That is also the reason I did not get an opportunity to ask Angela about her first song.)
For some time now, Angela has had somewhat long brown hair. (I believe that is her natural hair color.) She also has pretty blue eyes. Angela stands five feet seven inches tall, and she weighs one hundred twenty-five pounds. Angela’s beautiful body measures a very sexy 34DD-24-36.
In the few years that I have known Angela now, she has proven to be a very nice, extremely friendly, intelligent woman with a great sense of humor. Not only all of that, but she also thoroughly enjoys meeting and speaking with her fans.
In addition to being a wonderful woman, Angela Sommers is an excellent performer on stage.
Now this is where I would normally recommend that no one should ever miss out on an opportunity to see Angela perform. However, Angela recently announced that she was retiring from feature dancing and planning to attend nursing school. Although, if what I have recently read is factual, Angela is scheduled to be a guest performer at the Exotic Dancer Invitationals West. This year’s event will be held at three different Buck’s Cabarets on three different days. The Newcomer Division will be held at Bucks Cabaret in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, April 25. The Showgirl Division will be held at Bucks Wild in Dallas, Texas on Friday, April 26. And, the Finals of the EDI West (top three competitors from each division) will be held at Bucks Cabaret in Dallas on Saturday, April 27. So, I strongly advise that anybody who can should attend at least one of the contests. (If I had the time and money, I would be there for all three events.)

Joe’s New York Pizza
I was just about to climb into bed at around 2AM when I received a text message from Steve Nelson suggesting that I should meet him at Joe’s New York Pizza across Paradise Road from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for a good-sized peperoni pizza his treat. So out the door I went. Hey, I thought, if Steve is willing to buy the pizza, I can do without a few more hours of sleep.
So, I met Steve at the shop.
Once the pizza was ready, we took it back to Steve’s room at the Hard Rock where we were joined a little later by Savannah Jane and a young woman we meet while taking the pizza to the room. (The young woman brought another young lady with her.)
Once I met eaten my share of the pizza and had chatted for a little while, I returned to my hotel to get so much sleep as possible before heading home later that morning.
Fortunately, the drive home was generally uneventful. I made quick stops at the Baker Arco AM PM and the Pilot Travel Center in Barstow. I then stopped to eat my fill at the Hesperia Golden Corral Buffet. Once I had finished eating, I then stopped at the Hesperia Pilot Travel Center to top off my fuel tank before driving the remaining distance to my house.
While the AVN AEE and related adventures was a great time, as always, it was great to get home and relax.
That will just about do it for now good people. Let us all return here the next time to see just how I entertained myself next. Until then, everybody stay safe, have a great week, and live life as if there were no tomorrow!
Bonsoir et au revoir,
Myles Shaffer
